Develop Healthy Habits.
Like most things in life, people are forever on the hunt for easy remedies, and quick fixes but the truth is they don’t really exist. If you want something you have to put in the work. That’s why we started you on your journey stressing about how important it is to stay hydrated and eat with your hair goals in mind. If you want lasting results on your healthy hair journey you must develop healthy eating habits.
You’ve probably seen biotin on the ingredient lists of prenatal vitamins or hair growth supplements. This B vitamin (also known as vitamin B7 or vitamin H) can help strengthen the development of hair follicles, particularly if the hair is damaged or lacking strength.
The primary way that biotin helps strengthen your hair, skin, and nails is by improving the foundation of the keratin proteins found in your body. Keratin is the core protein found in your hair, skin, and nail cells.
The good news is that biotin is naturally found in the foods we eat, and actually developing a biotin deficiency is rare. Plus, most multivitamins also include biotin as one of their active ingredients. The better news is that there have been studies conducted that suggest increasing biotin intake may actually accelerate hair growth.
Which is why I usually suggest taking a form of biotin aside from your multivitamin. The dosage is typically higher in the concentrated biotin supplement than it is in the multivitamin and theoretically, the biotin supplement should be of better quality because it’s produced to deliver the specific results you’re trying to achieve (as opposed to being an added bonus included in a multivitamin).
